One Fine Day

Life and Style in Southern CA

It's been quite a while since I've done one of these! I've gotten a couple of new things that I think you would love. Here are my recent favorites:

1. imPRESS Press-On Nails

I always like to have my nails done, either with a gel or dip powder manicure. I tried press-on nails as a kid maybe once, and they were terrible! Haha! These nails have been circulating the internet, and since they are only $5 I decided to try them myself. They are so good!! They stay in tact through everything - doing dishes, laundry, hair washing, box opening...they don't budge. I didn't even notice them on once I applied them; they feel like a regular manicure. Simply follow the instructions and voila! You can also adjust the length with nail clippers if they're too long...that's what I did. They're also great to have on hand in case you have a regular manicure that chips; you can just apply one of these until you get your nails redone. PS - they come in other colors here, here, here, and here.

Clear iPhone Case
I hate having a case on my iPhone....I wish I could use it without any protective cover, but it's impossible to avoid scratches, cracks, and other damage without one. I found this case on Amazon, and it's completely clear and only $7.99 on Prime. I love it because you can finally see the pretty blush color of my 8+! It has a lip around the front screen to protect it from shattering, and it's been pretty sturdy thus far. It's got 4.5 stars out of 2,500+ reviews and shipped in a day! (Sidenote: it looks slightly blurred in this photo, but it's just the reflection from the window in my room)

10-Drawer Storage Cart
I talked about this in my last post about my bedroom update (read it here), but it's one of my favorite recent purchases so I had to share it again. It has wheels and is the perfect height, and I just love the white & gold colors. Mine is from Home Goods so I can't link it here, but I found it online in multicolor, white & silver, and black.

Moisturizing Gel Eye Masks
I love gel eye patches, and these are great to have on hand. They're not the best I've tried, but they do help and feel quite soothing for only $2.99. I always grab a couple of these on my Target runs. They feel even better on your skin if you leave them in the fridge for a while, too.

I don't have much fashion content for you this week - I've been pretty sick and could't really pose for photos. I have anemia that comes and goes, and this past couple of weeks it returned with a vengeance. I haven't been taking iron supplements for a few months (per doctor's orders), and my iron levels significantly dropped recently. It was so bad a few days ago I couldn't sit up - being awake and breathing was exhausting! Anyway, I'm back on my supplements and am feeling much better now....will definitely get back out and shoot some outfits real soon!! xoxo

I've been updating my room for the warmer weather, and I'm loving what I've found so far. I get the urge to change things up every so often - I'm always on the hunt for ways to make my room feel "renewed" or like it's not the same old place. This time around I switched out my duvet, throw blanket, and pillow covers and added a rug and a storage cart, and it was all pretty affordable!

My duvet is from Wayfair, and it's the first thing I've ever gotten from there. I must say I highly recommend ordering from them - they have outstanding customer service!! My duvet arrived with a small red stain on it, so they told me to keep it for my trouble AND they refunded me in full. I was very impressed! I totally love the pattern and the color, but I will say it's very lightweight. If you're looking for something heavier, this one from Target is perfect. The one from Wayfair has been marked down to only $25, though!

Among the many, many things I love to buy at Home Goods are rugs. You can find some awesome ones for great prices! This one I got for spring, for example, was only $15. As for the pillows, I rarely buy new pillows; I buy new pillow covers and re-use the same pillows I already have. I got the gold polka dot ones for $6 and the pink one for $3.99, which is way better than the $20-30 it would've cost for each new pillow. You can find my blush throw here (it's on sale today!)

I also got this white & gold 10-drawer storage cart from Home Goods. I found it on Amazon in multicolor, white & silver, and black.

Oh and one last thing about my room...if you need a new bed frame or headboard, the first place I always look is Home Depot. I chose my iron bed frame when I was in my Fixer Upper phase and wanted my room to have a farmhouse, rustic look, haha! It was only $199! The Joanna Gaines bed frame that looks just like mine is almost $700 from Living Spaces. Right now I'm more interested in having a tufted headboard or something of that sort, so I'd like to change mine out at some point.

I'm hoping to make more changes to my room in the future. I have a ceiling fan right now, which I'm dying to switch out for a small chandelier. Also, I got rid of my dresser and am aiming to put a vanity on the wall the dresser was on instead!

TTFN - that's all for now! xoxo

Happy Monday! I'm mailing these three things back, but before I do I want to share them here with you. I'm not posting them up to advise against them....in fact, it's to do the opposite! I actually want to encourage you to order them because they're just perfect for spring & summer. I'll explain more below.

Red Dress Boutique is one of my faaaavorite stores - they have some of the CUTEST things!! Unfortunately the problem is I wear an XS, and they only have a handful of dresses that come in that size. For my past order, I tried to order size S and see if that would work, but sadly they were too big. I think it's important to still share them, because sometimes what doesn't work for me might work for you. PS - these are the sandals I'm wearing in all the photos :)

This first tropical print maxi dress is lightweight, flowy, has a vibrant pattern, and is only $36. I love this one because it looks like a $75 (if not $100) dress from Nordstrom. As you can see, it hung too low on my frame - maybe if I was taller it would've worked out? Also, it seemed to drown me, whereas on the model it doesn't overpower her at all. It comes in this red color, too!

Next is this beautiful turquoise dress with some ruffle detailing and smocking on the top. I almost kept this one despite it being the wrong size because I love the color!! But there was just too much fabric at the waistline, and it ended up making me look frumpy. The smocking part was too wide and loose across my shoulders and torso....I took a photo without the front tied so you could see it better.

Last is actually not a dress, but is this adorable white eyelet romper. I was most excited about this one while I was waiting for my package....I was pretty much devastated when it didn't fit quite right!! Okay, maybe I'm being a little dramatic ðŸ˜‰ I will say that most of the romper fit right, it was just the chest area that was too loose (see closer in the last photo). It was too low-cut on me, and the clasp wasn't high up enough to close it where I wanted it to.

I'm going to place another Red Dress order soon, and this time I'll order my correct size and report back!! xoxo

Romper / Steve Madden 'Greece' Slides in "Natural Multi" / Treasure & Bond 'Sannibel' Wedges / Brixton Hat / Handmade Wicker Earrings ($11!) / Round Rattan Bag

Today I'm sharing this adorable romper from XOmandysue. It's a boutique based out of Newport Beach here in CA, and they have some of the cutest beachy-boho wear. I could wear a romper every single day in spring & summer - I never get tired of them haha. This one has pretty little red roses all over it, and the ruffle-hem makes it dressy enough for lunch, church, or a party, yet is still relaxed enough for the beach. I styled it with both wedges and sandals so you can see how versatile it is!

If you like it or anything else on their site, they've given me a coupon code for all my followers....simply enter "KATIE35" at checkout for 35% off your order! It puts this romper at just under $30 😊 Bonus: the coupon is reusable, so you can order again and again with the discount applied!!

Thank you to XOmandysue for collaborating with One Fine Day
