One Fine Day

Life and Style in Southern CA

Free People Saturday Morning Cardigan, also here (both are 60% off!) / Lace Trim Cami / Levi's Jeans (on sale!!) / Mix No. 6 Pumps
I mentioned in my last post that I've really taken an interest in designer items - shoes & bags specifically! I'm dyinggg for a Louis bag!! There are several things I'm saving up for, but I've been eyeing some dupes in the meantime. Here are three of the things that I wanted to share with you:

LV Amazon Dupe Case / LV Eye-Trunk Case
Talking about this first because I'm MOST excited about it. You may be familiar with the Louis Vuitton trunk case for the iPhone....it's so pretty, if you ask me. At $1100, though, I don't see it as a good investment. Since I get a new phone every year or two and tend to drop it pretty frequently, I don't think it's worth it. I do loveee the look of it, though! This one from Amazon is a great option...it practically looks real and is around $20. It even has the connecting strap so you can wear the phone on your shoulder, just like the real one. I asked for this for my birthday!

Mix No. 6 Pumps / Valentino Garavani Rockstud T-Strap Pump
I know these pumps are nothing new since you've seen them in my Christmas Outfit post, but I wanna talk about them again. Even though they don't look exactly the same as the Valentino's, I love the look of them anyway. You can't beat the price either! I also really want the red ones & nude pair.

Amazon Cable Bracelet and Twisted Link Bracelet / David Yurman Cable Bracelet and Link Bracelet

The last things are these David Yurman replicas. Maybe one day I'll own the real-deal, but for now these will do just fine. A few weeks ago I was at dinner with my aunt who I only see every so often (who is a jewelry expert) and she goes, "Katie, when did you get your David Yurman bracelets?" ha! She thought they were real! You can imagined how pleased I was since I only paid less than $40 for both.

Thinking of things to blog about has been a struggle lately! I'm preoccupied with the holidays and really haven't been devoting time to blogging. Since I love posting on here and sharing things with you, it makes me feel so depressed when I'm only around here every few days. I can't wait til after the New Year when all the mayhem is over and I can focus more on creating content! I think I'm going to do a "26 Things About Me" post since my birthday is on Tuesday heheh. Also, if there's anything you want me to answer in the post, comment, email, or DM me on IG and I'll do my best to include those too. Talk to you soon! xoxo

Hello all!! I wanted to share this with you before the 25th so you'd have some outfit inspo, but it was just so busy in the days leading up to Christmas that I didn't have the time to get this post together. I didn't even take these photos until Christmas Eve haha! Anyway, here are all the details:

Similar Skirt, like this one too / Long-sleeve Mockneck T-shirt / Pumps
Alright first of all, I'm so sad this skirt is sold out. I am obsessed with it - isn't it just exactly what you picture a Christmas skirt to look like?? The length is perfect...short enough to be cute, long enough for church 😉 Also looove the turtleneck. I was looking for a very fitted one, and they are surprisingly hard to find. But this one's nice and soft and a little stretchy as well. Lastly, these Valentino dupes are my new favorite shoes. I have (unfortunately) gotten really into high-end shoes & bags recently. These look a lot like the real deal, but are only $50!

Okay I have a funny story about the shoes! After these photos were taken, I went across the street to Ulta. There was a lady in there with the real version of my shoes, and I felt so silly walking by her in my fake ones! Hahah maybe she didn't even notice - but I totally felt self-conscious in my knock-offs after that.

I am missing Christmas Eve big time. We had our family friends over (who I refer to as my cousins - I grew up with them!) and we had lasagna, salad, fudge, bread pudding, egg nog...ok you get the picture hah. Then we watched Home Alone in our jammies and it was so cozy! I'm really going to miss seeing Christmas lights outside and all the decorations. I've been spending so much time sitting by the tree since it'll be going down soon - at least we have New Year's / My birthday coming up! ❤️

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I hope you thoroughly enjoyed the holiday ☺️ I meant to post this yesterday, but I just had sooo much going on with Christmas Eve festive that I didn't get to it. Anyway, if you're anything like me, you'll still be watching Christmas movies all week. There are some that I set to record on DVR every single year! The thing I love about made-for-TV movies, like on Hallmark, Lifetime, and Netflix, are they are so simple....almost mindless. I can just turn them on and enjoy a fun, predictable plot. Yeah, they may be a little dumb - but that's what I love about them haha. Read further for a short summary of each one!

1. A Holiday Engagement
Okay I don't know what it is about this movie - I've seen it before, but for some reason when I watched it a couple weeks ago I was crying laughing! It was seriously so funny!! The characters cracked. Me. Up. Hillary has just been dumped by her lawyer fiancé who decided to pursue his career instead of their relationship. Since it's just days before Thanksgiving and she's desperate to please her family, she hires an actor to pose as her future husband. I love this one and have already watched it twice!

2. Holiday in Handcuffs
An ABC Family (or Freeform now) classic. This one is kind of like A Holiday Engagement and is also super funny! Trudy's boyfriend breaks it off the day she is going home to her critical parents for Christmas, so she kidnaps David to bring along instead...hence the handcuffs. I think this one is particularly great because of the cast; Melissa Joan Hart & Mario Lopez are so good on screen together!

3. 12 Dates of Christmas
I'm not sure why I like this one so much. Something about the story I guess? Kate goes on a blind date and winds up re-living the night over and over again....12 times to be exact. She has to keep doing it over until she gets everything just right. Between getting over her ex-boyfriend and having a change of heart towards her new date, her neighbor, and her step-mom, she has a lot to learn before the night can finally end. I always like watching this one!

4. A Christmas Kiss
Alright - this might be the silliest Christmas movie there is, I admit....but I love watching it hahah. The story is just so unrealistic to the point where it makes you laugh. An aspiring interior designer, Wendy, dresses up (complete with makeup that makes her unrecognizable) for a night on the town with her two girlfriends and has to run a quick errand for her boss. On her elevator ride down, she is joined by a well-dressed, handsome guy. Suddenly, the elevator begins to crash, so they do what any normal people would do while an elevator is falling - they kiss! Lol! The rest of the movie follows the two of them, as the guy turns out to be Wendy's boss's boyfriend. Yikes!

5. Merry Kissmas
This one is a lot like A Christmas Kiss - it has the same kind of spur-of-the-moment elevator kiss in it (maybe I should hang out in elevators more often! Heheh). Kayla is engaged to marry choreographer Carlton who devotes all his time to his musical and treats Kayla as hardly anything more than his assistant. With their relationship on the rocks, Kayla manages to kiss a total stranger, Sebastian, in an elevator while running away from a nosy fan of Carlton's. The rest of the movie, Karla tries to salvage her broken relationship with Carlton while falling for Sebastian at the same time.

6. The Spirit of Christmas
This one has become one of my favorites. Kate, a lawyer, is sent to appraise and sell a haunted bed and breakfast. Despite the inn's manager warning her that the resident ghost will not approve, Kate takes matters into her own hands. She unexpectedly encounters the spirit, Daniel, when he returns to life just as he has each December for the past 95 years. Kate ends up spending all her time trying to break Daniel's curse rather than selling the inn and falls for him in the process. I will say I didn't really get how the ending worked, but overall it's one of the best ones on Netflix!

7. Snowed Inn Christmas
I watched this for the first time a little while ago, and I enjoyed it sooo much. Kevin (played by Andrew Walker 😍) and Jenna work together at a publication company and both volunteer for a special writing assignment during Christmas time. Bad weather strikes, and they're forced to land in none other than Santa Claus, Indiana. Their focus shifts from the assignment to saving the inn, owned by Chris and Carol Winters (any guesses who they might be??🎅🏻🤶🏻), who help bring the two together throughout the movie. It's a typical sappy, cute Lifetime movie that I think you'll love!

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of Christmas week xoxo

How is Christmas next week?? I feel like I need the happy & the crying emoji here! It's going waaay too fast. While I can't wait, I also need it to slow down BIG time. That's why I decided to get another gift guide out there - this one's for guys you need to get something for. I gathered these ideas from my dad, uncle, guy friends, sister's boyfriend, etc. and found some common items they're all really into. I've even bought a couple of these things to give as gifts! Here they are:

1. Apple AirPods and matching AirPods 7 in 1 Case

My dad has these AirPods, and he LOVES them - I almost never see him without one in his ear. He loans them to me sometimes, and I never want to give them back hahah. They're super convenient, and they only connect to your phone so they're useless if stolen. I found the matching silicone case on Amazon for under $10, which is awesome because they also come with a bunch of accessories.

2. Polo Black Cologne
I seriously melt at this smell of this cologne - a lot of men's cologne smells really good, but this one is definitely my favorite. It has such a fine, timeless fragrance that instantly makes any guy attractive!

4. Fossil Watch
If you want to get a guy a watch, I think this one is a great choice. It's got a classic, put-together look and is not overly expensive. Plus, you know it's going to be good with the Fossil name to it.

5. Calpak Luggage
I have 3 different sizes of Calpak luggage, and it's the best! It's really durable without compromising style. This is perfect for a guy who travels.

6. ID Passcase Wallet
A lot of guys I've come across love their wallets. I think this one is the perfect one to gift - it looks sharp, won't break the bank, and has all the right compartments.

7. Adidas Running Shoe
Can you go wrong with a new pair of tennis shoes? Especially when they look as cool as these Adidas!

8. Anker Wireless Charger
We have two of these in my house, and they are so great!! If you have an iPhone 7 or newer, you just place the phone on the charger and it charges, even with a case on. It works pretty quickly, too!

9. Tech-Capable Gloves
I'm not sure how many guys actually wear gloves to be honest. These are cool enough that they might start wearing them, though! I want a pair for myself hehe.

I am glad to say that I am DONE with all my Christmas shopping! With the exception of one gift card that I am picking up today haha. I am so ready to wrap all the gifts and enjoy the rest of the season. Movie guide is coming up next! ❤️

There are some patterns that automatically make me think of Christmas...plaid, fair isle, and houndstooth of course! I just love this skirt for the holidays - there's so much you can do with it! I couldn't decide which was my favorite, so I styled it two ways for you 😊

Houndstooth Skirt / Similar Red Sweater / Black Tights / Old scarf, similar here and here
For the first one, I paired it with a red sweater and a cream-colored scarf. The houndstooth with the red is just perfect in my opinion. The bold contrast between the colors really catches the eye...I feel so festive in this outfit!

Houndstooth Skirt / Funnel Neck Sweater / Scarf (last year), similar here / Black Tights
I also love this skirt with a white sweater and a red scarf. It feels a little more casual because it's not quite as loud as the bright red sweater, which I do love! I wanted a solid red scarf, like this one, but I happened to have the plaid one in my closet & liked the look 😊

Which combo is your fav? I can't decide! BTW - I am definitely working on that Hallmark Christmas movies list. I've got some good ones to share with you guys! Also, we got our tree this week, and it's massive. Our living room has higher ceilings so we went with an 8-9ft, but we might have been a liiiiittle overly ambitious at the tree lot. We ended up with the fattest, fullest tree they had in that size, and it takes up SO much space hahah. But I love it! It's so bushy and fragrant...best tree we've ever gotten. See ya! xoxo

Hello everyone!! I have missed posting all week - sorry I've been absent since Friday. This week has been really crazy. Last night I set my alarm for Wednesday morning....today is Thursday. That's right, I was late for my dental appointment! Hahah anyway, I wanted to blog about sequins today because I think they are the easiest way to look festive and glam at Christmas & New Year's. Here are some things I've got my eye on.....

Short Sequined Skirt - Black - Ladies | H&M US 3
Short Sequined Skirt
This one is my favorite so far. It's only $25, is the perfect length (not too long, not too short), and the black makes it dressy enough for an evening party. I would pair this with either a dressy blouse or even a plaid shirt in Christmas colors!

Glittery Skirt - Black - Ladies | H&M US 5

I also found this Glittery Skirt in the store the same store other day, and it's stretchy and comes in a few colors. It's under $20 so is perfect if you need a holiday look on a budget!

Sequined Velour Dress - Black - Ladies | H&M US 1

Okay I am pretty sure this Sequined Velour Dress is going to be my NYE dress! All you need are some fabulous shoes and maybe a pink or red lip. I would love it with a red coat too!

Image result for express gradient sequin dress

I particularly like this Sequin Cami Dress because of the gradient black & gold - it's so perfect for New Year's, and I can just see it with a cute pair of heels!

Image result for express sequin stretch leggings

Too cold for a dress? Try these Sequin Stretch Leggings with a white or red sweater....still glam, but nice and warm 😉

Just keeping it short & sweet today. Do you have your Christmas Day outfit? I think I have mine, but I'm not sure yet! Definitely will be sharing. Check back soon for my holiday houndstooth look! xoxo

**EDIT**: a couple of the links are forwarding to the wrong items as of 10/13/18 - it's out of my control. You can use the product images linked below...they should work! <3

Christmas pajamas are something I'm sure anyone would LOVE to receive - I know I sure do! I'm really happy to report that I found lots of good ones this year. I even got a pair for Puggy that he tolerates hates buuuut he just looks so cute in them, I couldn't resist! As for PJs for myself, I put together the graphic below that has some of my favorites - they're all linked underneath. PS - Scroll to the bottom to see his jammies 😁

Sleepyhead Thermal PJs / Flannel PJ Set / All the Jingle Ladies PJ Set / Flannel Sleep Shirt / Pom Knit Beanie / Slipper Socks

Also love:
Thermal-Knit Sleep Leggings and Matching Thermal Top, Flannel Sleep Pants, this 4 Piece PJ Set (comes with a beanie and fuzzy socks!), also HERE and HERE, and this Thermal Nightshirt

Are you into matching family pajamas? I think I am, but my family has never done it! I'm tempted to buy some for all of us haha. I actually bought the pair that's on sale for $12 (pictured above) for my mom and I, so hopefully we will get a cute photo in them.

And now as promised, here's some footage of Oliver's onesie:

What do you think of his little doggy outfit? I'm dying!! The little buttons on the back! I got them at Target...you can find them here. Anyway, I have been watching soooo many Hallmark Christmas movies this year, I'm dying to write up a post on all my favorites. Keep your eyes peeled for one! xoxo

Every year I see tons of gift guides go up on the blogs I follow - this is the first year I have my own blog, so why not whip one up myself? This first one has to do with cosmetics that I'm sure any girl would love...I  personally want all of them hahah. I listed each product below with the corresponding number from the graphic :) Also, everything is linked to Nordstrom because they have free shipping 24/7. PS - the last day to order something with standard shipping and have it arrive before Christmas is 12/12, just in case you needed a heads up like I did!

1. Lancome Advanced Genifique Hydrogel Face Mask
This is the perfect gift to indulge your mom, sister, bff - anyone really! It's super hydrating, makes your skin glow, and is relatively inexpensive depending how many you buy!

2. Philosophy Candy Cane Shower Gel, Bubble Bath, and Shampoo
I ordered this for myself - the festive scent makes me sooo happy every time I use it

3. BeautyBio Bright Eyes Gel Strips
Stick these in the fridge for a few hours, and they really help take care of your under-eyes and feel so refreshing!

4. Slip Pure Silk Pillowcase
I don't own one of these, but it is definitely on my wishlist!! Silk pillowcases are said to be much better for your hair and prevent sleeping lines on your face. It also comes in a gift set with a silk eye mask, which you can find here.

5. La Mer Soft Cream
At the price of this moisturizer, Christmas is the perfect time to make that purchase! Only the greatest cream of all time - so I hear ☺️

6.  Jo Malone Candle
These fine-fragrance candles make for such a thoughtful, elegant gift. They come in a wide variety of scents, and you can pick one that you think would best suit the recipient. They all smell SO GOOD so you really can't go wrong! My personal favorite is the English Pear and Freesia.

7. T3 Twirl Convertible Curling Iron
If you're going to give someone a new hair tool, might as well make it the best of the best, right??

8. Sigma Beauty SigMagic Brush Scrub
I have this and it is fantastic!! It has suction cups on the back so it sticks to the sink, making it really easy to scrub your makeup brushes clean. Under $20 too!

9. Lancome "Monsieur Big" Mascara
I started using this mascara instead of my regular mascara, which is this Too Faced one, and I'm reaaaaally liking this Lancome one. If you know someone who needs a mascara for Christmas, this one's perfect!

10. Laura Mercier Honey Fig Bubble Bath
What better way to spoil someone than with a luxurious bubble bath? It also comes in this Creme Brûlée Honey scent...dreamy!

11. Dior Lip Sugar Scrub
This comes in the prettiest, fanciest container and looks ultra glam. I'm dying for one!

What are your favorite beauty products to receive for Christmas? I'm dying for a new curling wand! I also thought of some other things, like dry shampoo, nail polish, and perfume. They seem kind of simple, but they make for great stocking stuffers! I would personally like to receive a can of dry shampoo, considering this Living Proof one that I use is $23 haha. Anyway, I'll be coming out with more gift guides over the next couple of weeks to help with your Christmas shopping! xoxo

PS - thank you to Sabrina and Melissa for helping me think of beauty products ❤️

Hey everyone! I hope you all had the best Thanksgiving ❤️  Did you shop Black Friday or Cyber Monday? I certainly did - probably a little too much hah! I'm sharing some things I bought since a lot of them would make great Christmas gifts, including the jacket I'm wearing in the above photo (yes - I was at Disneyland yesterday!) Most of these items are still on sale too ☺️ Here's what I got:

Image result for kitchenaid artisan stand mixer red
I am MOST excited about this!! I have wanted a stand mixer for yearssss! I picked the KitchenAid Artisan model - there are lots of different ones to choose from, but I went with the Artisan over the Professional 600 series because it's a little shorter, and I like the tilt head and the bowl better. I used it for several dishes on Thanksgiving and it was ah-mazing!

Next, I got two dream throws from Pottery Barn. First up is the ultimate Faux Fur Rouched Blanket. It is a bit of an investment, but trust me....you will be sooo happy when it's cold outside and you have it to snuggle up in. It's kind of heavy, super soft, and really warm - the weight seems to lock in the heat. It comes in different colors and sizes, too. (Zoey loves it! ☺️) The second one is this pom pom throw, and it's just SO soft and comfy. It would make a really nice present since it's only $39. The pom poms add the cutest touch....it's really pretty as a decorative throw, too!

Another find from PB - faux fur slippers. I have these sherpa booties from last year, which I love, but I really like the slip-on ones because they're easy to get on and off. I love all the colors & the faux fur...I'm putting the "Grey Tipped Alpaca" color on my wishlist! Also pictured here are these glimmer strings from Pier 1...they make the lanterns on the hearth sparkle and have 8 different settings.

I did order some new clothes too, and I wanted to specifically mentioned my new jacket. Last December both of my winter jackets were stolen out of the car, so I knew I would have to find replacements this year. I scoured the internet for the best deal and ended up ordering this Patagonia Nano Puff jacket. I've only heard great things about this brand and wanted a lightweight, yet warm, puffer jacket. I looked into less expensive ones from Old Navy, Abercrombie, and even Uniqlo, but upon trying them on I knew they weren't the quality I was looking for. I feel like jackets are one of those things you have to spend a little more money on if you want a good one. Sidenote: I'll probably exchange mine for the white color...I wanted it, but it was sold out at the time!

I'll be debuting the clothes I got over the next several Instagram posts! When they come in the mail that is haha. Anyway, I just got home from a mini stay-cation overnight at Disneyland. It was so magical for Christmastime! I'm gonna be sitting by the fire watching Hallmark movies & the tree lighting at Rockefeller center....have the best rest of your weekend! ❤️

Plaid Cardigan / Cable-knit Beanie ($12!)

One of my favorite things about this season is walking into Starbucks and ordering a Christmas drink in a decorative cup! The cups this year are especially pretty - I've made it a personal goal to get one of each pattern hahah. There are lots of different holiday drinks to try, but here are my top 5:

1. Peppermint White Hot Chocolate

This is my go-to in the fall & winter months. It tastes like warm vanilla milk infused with peppermint - I ask them to add the red Christmas sprinkles on top to make it extra special. If you aren't a big coffee fan, this drink is perfect for you!

2. Caramel Brûlée Latte

This one is soooo yummy and great if you're a coffee lover and enjoy sweeter drinks. It's not super sweet, but the caramel adds just enough sugar to amp it up. My favorite thing about this one is the brûlée topping!

3. Peppermint Mocha

Mocha coffee flavor + peppermint....this one always reminds me of Christmas. The chocolate curls they add on top of the whipped cream are divine! Heres a tip: try ordering this one as a Frappuccino. The cold mint mocha flavor is ahhh so tasty and fresh.

4. Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte

If you like the regular PSL, you have to try the chai version. It's sooo warming when it's cold outside. PS - I've heard several times that it tastes better with almond milk, so maybe that's worth a try.

5. Toasted White Chocolate Mocha

An espresso drink with caramelized white chocolate and candied cranberry sugar on top - the description alone sounds so festive! I love anything white chocolate, so this is a favorite for me.

Starbucks also has a really cool selection of Christmas baked goods this year! The one I keep re-ordering is the sugar plum cheese danish. I'm a huge fan of the regular cheese danish, and this holiday edition is the bomb. PS - if you are part of the rewards, you get bonus stars for every visit during the holidays. The more visits, the more stars, more freebies ☺️

Come back later in the week to see some of my Black Friday purchases!! xoxo
