One Fine Day

Life and Style in Southern CA

It's Friday eve and I've got a bunch of fall outfits to share with you today! My mom, sister, and I stopped into Target yesterday, and I found sooo many cute things...I ended up loading up the cart and heading to the fitting room for an impromptu try-on. All of these pieces are pretty affordable, too - the boots are 20% off, which doesn't happen often for Target shoes!

Just a quick sidenotes, for sizing references I typically wear an XS, a 0/24 in pants, and I'm 5"4.5. Be sure to read through the descriptions I wrote for each item, because I talk about sizing info. Also, you may notice some of the photos below are not the greatest quality - unfortunately I didn't realize my camera lens had a smear on it until about halfway through! Plus Target doesn't have the best lighting haha.

Let's get this haul started:

1. Leopard Babydoll Dress and Booties

I'm pretty sure this is my favorite item of this post. It's only $20, and the fit is so good - I love the flowy, feminine silhouette. It's made of soft, lightweight material, so it's perfect for this time of year if you live somewhere like I do (aka summer in October!) I’m wearing size XS & it fits perfectly!

I've been posting these booties a lot over on my LIKEtoKNOW.it profile, so if you follow me in the app you've probably seen them. They're GREAT booties - I love the laser cut detail, the color, and they're also on sale for 20% off making them $30! They fit TTS.

2. Cream Mockneck Sweater, Seamed Faux Leather Leggings, Leopard Scarf, and Over-the-Knee Boots

The first thing I want to address is these leggings - I'm so impressed by them! They're fleece-lined, so they're very warm and comfortable. They're high-waisted so they suck you in, and I got my normal size. I did find the fit was just slightly loose in the hip area, but not to the point where I wouldn't wear them. The seam makes them a little dressier, too.

The OTK Boots are legit and are on sale for only $32!! They're pretty decent quality and fit well! Although I will say, I would go down a half size if you have really skinny legs. I am wearing my normal shoe size here and they do fit, but they're not tight and fitted against my leg like this style of boot is supposed to be.

As for the sweater, I'm wearing a S here and it's too big. I did like the extra length for pairing it with leggings, but I'm sure if they had XS that would have fit me a little better. I love the mock neck and the sleeves on this one!

I didn't forget about this amazing $16 leopard scarf. It's really good quality and makes me wish I hadn't spent $50 on the Free People one last year ðŸ¤£ jk! It's long, soft, and the pattern is spot on....no pun intended heheh.

3. Long Sleeve Crewneck Sweater, Distressed Jeans, Beanie, and Over-the-Knee Boots

This sweater looks slightly different online than it does in person - I noticed it looks a little see-through in the website photo. It's not see-through at all in real life! It's got thick stitching and is very warm and cozy. It's not too bulky, so you can easily layer a long-sleeve top underneath and a jacket on top once it gets colder. I went up to a size S in this one because it's a little short. It comes in a bunch of other colors and patterns as well.

Also in this outfit (and others below) is this pair of Distressed Jeans. These are actually a pretty good fit to my surprise - I've never really liked Target jeans in the past, but this pair changed my mind! Albeit they are not the greatest quality denim (nothing bad), but for $27.99 they're on-trend and fit me well. I sized down to a 00 because they're stretchy and roomy.

The beanie was a little too big on me, but I'm sure that won't mean it'll be too big on you - I typically fit in child-size hats ðŸ˜‚ I have a small head! Anyway, it's a really cute, cozy beanie and pairs well with lots of colors.

4. Long-Sleeve Cardigan, Crepe Cami, Distressed Jeans, and Booties

I was drawn to this Long-Sleeve Cardigan because it looks like something you'd find at Abercrombie or Madewell! I love the open stitching and the baggy sleeves. I also love the brown color it has - it pairs well with white, black, gray, burnt orange...lots of colors! I got this in my regular size XS, and I love the fit.

The cami is a closet staple - I think every girl needs a cami in her closet, and this $17 one is great. I got my regular size XS, and I did have to adjust the straps quite a bit to get it to fit properly. It's lined and great quality, so need to worry about it being see through. I also got it in the 'Rust' color which you'll see next.

5. Duster Cardigan, Crepe Cami, Distressed Jeans, and Booties

This duster cardigan is super lightweight and adds a finished look to a casual outfit. I love the length and how it looks with jeans and booties! It also has pockets so that's an automatic upgrade. As for the cami, I'm sorry to say this color is sold out online, but keep checking because Target restocks lots of times. This outfit would look so cute with black jeans or distressed black jeans, too!

6. Honeycomb Sweater

Next is this open-front sweater that I think is so great for Autumn. I went up a size in this one, too, because it's short and a little fitted. Not sure if it was supposed to fit that way, but I prefer my cardigans to be a little looser...maybe even oversized. I couldn't decide between this brown color and the olive one - they're both earthy, beautiful tones for the season! Wearing it with the same cami, jeans, beanie, and booties.

7. U-Neck Mini Dress, Booties, and Long-Sleeve Cardigan

Another little $20 find is this gray dress! It's got super soft material and has a little ruffle look to it. I got my regular size and it fits perfectly. I wanted to mention that I tried to pair it with OTK Boots but it looked odd because of the length of the dress - you couldn't see the tops of the boots. The reason I mention that is so you can get an idea of the length...but it looks so cute with booties, anyway!

8. Pink Sweatshirt and Sweatpants set

I'm sorry to report this outfit is not online yet :( I'm sure it will be soon, though....this happens a lot with Target items I find in-store. I figured I would give you a full report anyway, since I already tried them on! First of all, they're blush pink with a twinkly star pattern (score!) Second, they're in a matching set (score!) Third, they have the SOFTEST fleece on the inside (major score!!!) I did find the sweats were a little too long and came up really high on my waist. But they're sweats, they don't need to look super fashionable. I'll update this once they're both available online!

Hope you enjoyed this haul! I'd love to do another Target one, but this time with all the cozy essentials. I saw a tonssss of adorable jammies and sweatpants there. Last but not least, I wanted to share a bunch of other boots and booties that are 20% off.....I linked a bunch below! xoxo

(BTW - I have no idea why this last section is all in pink. I've tried 10 times to get it back to black ink  ðŸ¤£ oh well!)

Turtleneck / Blanket Scarf / Corduroy Skirt / Boots / Bag / Hat
Hey there, friends! Last week we took a short trip to the mountains to visit our favorite apple orchards and country stores. Oak Glen is a total hidden gem of California - I didn't even know about it until about six or seven years ago. Since then, we've made an annual pilgrimage each fall because it is such a special, cozy place!

Just under two hours east of Los Angeles, you'll find this charming little town in Yucaipa. It's a bit of an escape without being too far away, which is why I love it. It's only about a 15 minute drive into the mountains, so you're close to town but far away enough to capture that outdoorsy vibe and a nice breath of nature air.

There are several different orchards and ranches in Oak Glen, and you'll stumble across different ones depending on which side you enter from. You can either start from Yucaipa Blvd. or Cherry Valley Blvd., both of which are nice drives through the trees. It doesn't really matter which you choose, because the roads make a big circle....so you'll enter through one and exit out the other.

We entered through Yucaipa Blvd this year, and our first stop was at Parrish Pioneer Ranch. I love the big red barn where they sell all kinds of local goods and caramel apples. They also have a couple of other stores, a small restaurant (where we tried some amazing turnovers and fritters!) and some live animals. The folks there are a little more old fashioned and don't really like anyone taking pictures inside the stores for some reason, but I was able to get a few.

There are lots of other stores and restaurants to explore....I haven't even been to all of them before. My favorite is Los Rios Rancho - they have the best country store, in my opinion! They even host events like weddings, receptions, and dances there. They always have the yummiest samples and cider, and you can't pass up their bakery. It's also my favorite because of its location - it's nestled in a part of the village that has a gorgeous view of the trees and mountains. On top of that, they have a row of rocking chairs on the porch for you to sit in and soak in the scenery. I've also visited here at Christmastime, and it's just as magical as Autumn!

We all noticed that it was significantly more crowded this year than those prior. We could hardly find parking this time! If you happen to be local or ever find yourself visiting CA this time of year, be sure to pay a visit - one sip of that hand-crafted apple cider, and you'll be hooked! xoxo
