One Fine Day

Life and Style in Southern CA

If you follow me over on Instagram (username: @heysweetkay), you've probably notice that I've been finding some great pieces from Amazon. I rounded them up all together in this post for your convenience. It's become my new favorite place to order from, just because the deals are unbeatable, the quality is generally decent, if not great, and everything on Prime gets to my front door in no more than 2 days for free. Here's what I've posted the past few weeks:

Ruffle Flounce Bikini
Amazon swimwear has been the #1 best seller around here, just because the suits are SO cute and are incredibly affordable! One of my favorite bloggers, Mrs. Casual, shared a code that put one of the two pieces at 50% off for just $11.99. A few of you ordered it, and I did too! I took it with me to the Disneyland Hotel. PS - my palm print kimono is from TJ Maxx, but this one from Amazon looks a lot like it and is only $15.

High Waisted Floral Swimsuit
This next one is my FAV-OR-ITE....I can't get over how cute it is with the little ruffle detailing. The top bandeau has great coverage & support (with padding), and the straps are removable and adjustable. The bottoms are high waisted, so you can eat all the snacks you want at the beach without your tummy hanging out. They're also slightly cheeky, and while I definitely prefer more coverage in the back it's nothing too bad. Only $23!

Rattan Earrings
I've posted these earrings several times because they're just that good. $11, very lightweight, & versatile! The straw/rattan look is on major trend and goes with pretty much anything. Amazon has a lot of great options just like these that I'll be ordering...I posted them below if you're interested.

Geometric Hoop Earrings
These look identical to a pair that is triple the price...they're only $8.99, match with lots of outfits, and are super lightweight. The last photo I have where I'm wearing them is from my Texas trip (below) - you can find my outfit details in this post.

Polka Dot Shorts
I brought these shorts with me to Disneyland because I always love to wear Mickey-inspired outfits to the parks. They're only $10 and feel light as air - perfect for a hot day! Find my $12 Minnie Mouse shirt here.

White Midi Dress
This dress comes in several colors/patterns, and for $21 it's a great summer option. Even though I haven't posted it in a while, people continue to order it every week...it's one of the best finds on Amazon. I will say that the material is not what I was expecting - it's kind of a stretchy fabric, but no complaints.

White Mini Dress
While the other one was a midi length, this one is a mini! It hit me around mid-thigh (maybe a little longer) and I am 5"4.5. I wore it for Easter Sunday with a blue cardigan, and it was just darling. Love, love it for summer!

Sam Edelman 'Christina' Platform Sneakers
These popular shoes are both a slip-on sneaker and an espadrille. Sam Edelman is one of my favorite shoe designers, and most sizes are on sale for only $36!

That's all for today! I'm going to Vegas in a few weeks, so I'm putting together several poolside looks from Amazon. I'm so excited for all the cute, budget-friendly swimsuits, coverups, and bags! Stay tuned ❤️ xoxo

Hello friends!! I'm sorry I wasn't around here last week - I had a lot going on between my sister's graduation, my mom's birthday, going to Disneyland, etc. so I decided to put a brief pause on blogging for a few days. Anyway! As you may have seen from my Instastories, we treated my mom to a stay at the Disneyland hotel for her birthday, and it was a dream come true. It was our first stay there and was the BEST!!

I wanted to jump right in and tell you about the pool...no pun intended 😉 We spent an entire half day out there because the weather was gorgeous - the pool area felt like the ultimate relaxation station. The first day of our stay was freezing (only 60 degrees...the horror! 🤣) but our second day was 75 and sunny. We sat on our chaises, read books, napped, and ordered drinks, snacks, and pineapple dole whip, oh my! Behind me in the first photo of this post is the Tiki Bar, which is a fun little hut where all your drinks and snacks will come from. You can go up there, sit, and enjoy a view of the pool too.

We also went for a swim, and the water felt so smooth and conditioned on my skin because it's actually a saltwater pool. It was very warm too, just like bath water. One thing I love about their pool area is the unlimited towels...the pool crew even periodically offers to swap out your wet towels for dry ones. They also hand you your own bottle of sunblock at the gate, which was great because I forgot to bring some. PS - my swimsuit is HERE for only $23.99 and this kimono looks just like mine (mine is from TJ Maxx). I also wore my tried & true sun hat, which was perfect for that day!

Each Disney hotel has a water slide, and the Disneyland Hotel has a monorail slide that happened to be under construction and was scheduled to reopen sometime in May. We hoped it would be ready by the time of our stay on the 23rd-24th, but when we arrived it was still closed. It was pretty disappointing, but they did offer us access to the big slide at the Paradise Pier hotel. So, we planned to head over there after spending some time at our hotel pool. While we were hanging out, a lifeguard came around and said, "ATTENTION! THE MONORAIL SLIDE IS NOW OPEN!" It was such a nice surprise for my mom's birthday! You can see the slides (there are actually two) behind me in the photo below.

The slide was so.much.FUN. Even though I was freezing up there! Hahah you have to climb up kind of high to go down the slide, and while you're waiting in line, dripping wet, in just a swimsuit, it gets chilly. I can imagine it feeling great on a 100 degree day, though. Guess I'll have to go back in August hehe.

I'm kicking myself for not taking more photos of the pool area...it didn't occur to me because I was taking tons of video footage instead. I really want to put a whole vlog together from our stay, so I'm piecing together all the clips I took. If you remember a few posts back, I talked about making a Texas vlog. I actually finished it about a month ago but never posted it....I chickened out! Should I post it??

Hope you enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend ❤️ I went to a Greek festival that happens at the Greek Orthodox Church in my town every year....can't beat the food & dancing! Then we celebrated Megan's graduation with family who couldn't make it the week prior. Looking forward to getting back to my usual programming around here with some outfit posts! xoxo

Happy Friday, friends! This post came together kind of spur-of-the-moment....I was at 3rd street Promenade in Santa Monica and stopped into Urban Outfitters, and I saw tons of cute dresses! So I thought, why not try them on for your all? I included 7 dresses in this haul, but there were lots of other ones that I loved too. I linked them all at the very bottom, so be sure to check out that widget! PS - for sizing reference, I am 5"4.5 and typically wear an XS/0.

1. 'Hanna' Scallop Babydoll Mini Dress

This one's my favorite because of the vibrant pattern and the flowy fit. The floral pattern is perfect for summer, and it's just the right length for my height (has adjustable straps 🙌🏻). It also comes in 3 other patterns/colors and is $49.

2. 'Tatiana' Eyelet Babydoll Romper

I was slightly skeptical when I saw this on the rack....I was afraid it would end up looking like children's play clothes haha. I ended up really loving it once I tried it on. You know I love anything eyelet, and it's so different than anything I've seen. I feel like most rompers/dresses clearly look like a romper or like a dress, and with this one you can't really tell. The baby blue color is gorgeous, but I think the white with the orange and yellow flowers is my favorite!

3. Floral Ruffle Button-Front Romper

I picked this one because of the ruffle sleeves and the little ruffle detailing across the top....soooo cute! The front buttons are functional, the material is lightweight, and it fit me really well. Can't you just picture this with slide sandals and a straw hat? 😍 Comes in a similar dress version here.

3. 'Beatrice' Eyelet Babydoll Romper

This is another item that isn't clearly a romper. In fact, I thought it was a dress and was pleasantly surprised to find it has shorts. There's a sense of security in knowing your dress has shorts underneath, ya know? Anyway, I'm all about the pink color of it, and it fit just right. It also comes in black and white and is on sale right now for $59!

4. Positano Tie-Shoulder Midi Dress

This one is just so pretty! The best part is the adjustable tie-shoulders - they add such a feminine touch that goes nicely with the style of the dress. Just a heads up that the material is very heavy, so I can't see it being very comfortable on a hot summer day. It's perfect for a 75-80 degree spring day, though! It comes in 6 other patterns/colors and is on sale for $59.

5. Puff Sleeve Babydoll Dress

I love this as a staple dress to throw on and go. I can envision it paired with a silk hairscarf, a pair of wedges, and a straw bag - perfect summer outfit! It didn't really work for me because it was a little too oversized. It just fit too long and wide, but it may work for you! Grab it while it's on sale for $34....it comes in orange, yellow, and turquoise too.

6. 'Katrina' Tiered Ruffle Mini Dress

Such a cute little dress....it almost has a babydoll fit, and the ruffle gives it a fun & flirty appeal. This one was slightly shorter than I'm comfortable with, even after I adjusted the straps. If this length works for you, it comes in a cheerful yellow color as well as black.

7. Carolina Floral Maxi Dress

I was really drawn to this by the pale yellow color and the delicate pattern. The ruffle at the bottom is so good, too! I think it was just too long on me though...maybe not but it looked really pretty on the rack. It comes in a beautiful bright yellow color also.

What store should I go to next? xoxo
