One Fine Day

Life and Style in Southern CA

I was especially excited about Halloweentime at Disney this year because they completely expanded their seasonal menu. They typically only offer a couple of items exclusive to Halloween and Christmas - last year one of them was a chicken pot pie and I am DYING to have it again this year (it was so good!!). This time around they added tons of different foods and drinks instead of having a limited list. I ordered a few really good ones! I was going to share this post after Halloween when the menu is no longer offered, but the majority of you voted on my story to have it published today. I hope it's useful if you're visiting the park on or before Halloween!

Here are some photos of Disneyland as well as what I ended up trying:

And now on to the food! I was really lucky to get a hard copy of the Food Guide, which you can find online here - they were all out for weeks! The orange side is for Disneyland, and the purple side is for CA Adventure.

#1. Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake and Cruella De Ville Brownie at Jolly Holiday Cafe
These are the first two things I tried when Halloweentime started this year. The layered cheesecake is so good!! The brownie was just okay - not really one of my favorites. The Dalmatian spots on the outside of the cup were so cute, though!

#2. Mac & Cheese Cone at the Cozy Cone Motel
The seasonal Mac & Cheese at Cozy Cone is actually called the Slow Burnin' Mac & Cheese - I ordered the one that's available year-round. Unlike the regular one that is just topped with bacon, the Slow-Burnin' Halloween one has a spicy cheese sauce and crushed chili puffs on top. I didn't want the spicy one, so I opted for the regular. It was really good!! I want to go back and get another one! It's so cute inside a bread (more like a crescent roll) cone. Even though I didn't try the seasonal one, there was a super long line for it so I'm guessing it's pretty good!

#3. "Spoke-y" Cone Macaron
I didn't actually want to try this one - my mom ordered it for me, and when I tried it I was glad she did! It's VERY sweet though - we all took a couple of bites hah. It has a sugary cream-filling that has candy corn mixed into it. The macaron wafer is so light and yummy, too!

#4. Smore's Churro at Golden State Churro Cart (near Redwood Challenge Trail)
Ugh you guys - you cannot go wrong with a churro from Disney. They are so good!!! This one was reeaaalllyy yummy. I waited in line 15 mins for it 😁 my favorite is still their original churro, but this one has bits of graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate sauce. YUM. Wish it wasn't seasonal!

#5. Halloween Hot Dog at Refreshment Corner (on Main Street)
This is another item where I tried the regular, non-spicy one. The regular one is a hot dog with a scoop of Mac & Cheese and bacon on top. I LOVED IT!! The Halloween one has spicy meatballs, cheese sauce, and roasted tomatoes. I was so hungry when I ordered this that I totally forgot to get a picture of it - tragic, I know.

There are lots of items I'm still hoping to try before they stop offering the Halloween menu on The 31st. Here is my list:

Disneyland:
1. Frozen Horchata at Rancho del Zocalo
2. Pumpkin Spice Beignets at the Mint Julep Bar
DCA:
3. Pumpkin Spice Funnel Cake Fries at Award Weiners
4. Cookies and Cream Funnel Cake Fries at Award Weiners
5. Bacon Cheddar Ale Soup at the Pacific Wharf Cafe
6. Green Apple Spell Lemonade at Smokejumpers Grill

I doubt I will be able to try all of these before Wednesday, but I'm hoping to try #'s 4, 5, and 6! I'll show you any new foods I get on my story :)

What are you doing for Halloween? I would love to know what you're dressing up as! I ordered things for my costume super last minute (yesterday) haha - I hope it works out. Thanks for stopping by xoxo

Trust me on this one - you will not regret making this drink! It's become my go-to in the fall and winter months. I found the recipe from the Sprouts Facebook page last year, and after trying it out I was hooked big time. It's really easy and has simple ingredients that you probably already have in the pantry. The full recipe is HERE, and here's my version that's slightly different:

Here's what you'll need:
- 2 cups of spice chai black tea
- 4 cups of milk
- 4 tbsp canned pumpkin
- 3 tbsp white sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 6 cloves
- 2 tsp vanilla
Not required, but what I add:
- heavy whipping cream
- cinnamon
- pumpkin spice cookie straws

A couple of sidenotes - the recipe calls for 6 peppercorns, but I don't add them. It also calls for pumpkin spice black tea, but since it's hard to find I sub with chai black tea and it tastes SO good.

Here are the directions:
1. Brew tea and add to crockpot
2. Add all ingredients and cook for two hours on high
3. Remove cloves and cinnamon stick
4. Whip the cream
5. Serve with a generous dollop of whipped cream, cinnamon on top, and a cookie straw

This is one of the easiest things to make because you just toss everything in a crockpot! I've already had it 3 times this season. Let me know if you try it! I'm at Disneyland today...you can follow my day on my Instagram story :) xoxo

I consider this dress to be a fall staple - it's really versatile, so you can wear it all different ways. I especially like it during October here in SoCal because it's chilly in the morning + evening but warm during the day...the long sleeves are like having a sweater, but I don't get too hot since it's a dress! Here I styled it with 3 different pairs of shoes, scarves, and a flannel shirt. I linked all the items below each photo ☺️

This Outfit: Jersey Swing Dress / Woven Blanket Scarf / Leather Crossbody / Block Heel Bootie (last year), very similar HERE / Circle Charm Necklace

This Outfit: Jersey Swing Dress /Adidas Superstar Sneakers / Similar Red & Black Flannel HERE and HERE / Leather Crossbody / Circle Charm Necklace

This Outfit: Jersey Swing Dress / Tall Scrunch Boots / Woven Blanket Scarf / Madewell Blanket Scarf, similar HERE / Leather Crossbody / Circle Charm Necklace

Which one is your favorite? I think I like it best with tall boots and a blanket scarf. Although, I wore it all day with sneakers, and it was perfect for running around! The white scarf is a major favorite of mine...it looks like it's from Madewell but it's from Target! Btw - I am wearing size XS petite in the dress. at 5"4.5, I am actually in between sizes. I tried on the XS regular and it was too big. The petite is a tad short in the sleeves, but I like the overall fit.

PHEW! What a day. I had sooo much to do today - October is going waaaaay too fast for my liking. Hope you had a great Tuesday! xoxo

Green Utility Jacket / Waffle Lace-Up Top / Madewell Skinny Jeans

Free People Cardigan / Levi's Skinny Jeans / Ribbed Henley / DV Booties (different color)

AE Jeans / Lace-Trim Cami / Boyfriend Cardigan / Leather Crossbody Bag / Huarache Sandals

Patterned Cardigan / Lace-Trim Cami / Circle Charm Necklace / Similar Kate Spade Bag

Happy Monday! I have a couple of posts in the works for this week, but for today I'm sharing 4 of my recent IG photos. I'm obsessed with the Free People sweater in the second picture...I wear it every day! The green jacket is the perfect utility jacket - I've been looking for a new green jacket for the fall, and this one is exactly what I wanted. Lastly, the leopard sweater in the last photo is arguably my favorite purchase this season. I went out on a limb wearing that pattern, and I ended up looooving it!

I hope you all had a great weekend! We hosted a small fall get-together on Friday with dinner, dessert, and pumpkin spice chai lattes. I might share the latte recipe on here...what do you think?? It's SO GOOD :)

BTW - speaking of food, I still owe you a post on the food we ate on our trip to the south. We've been home for a month and a half and I still haven't gotten around to it - sad, I know. I'm hoping to get it up real soon, though! Talk to you later ❤️

Cozy Boyfriend Cardigan & Knit Boyfriend Cardigan / Faux Fur Cardigan & Plush Hooded Cardigan / Oversized Waffle Stitch Cardigan & Slouchy Waffle Cardigan / Madewell Kent Cardigan & Plush-Knit Open-Front Sweater

Happy Monday! What can I say, sweaters make me very happy ☺️ Here are some of my favorite cardigans at all different prices. I've seen so many good ones this year...it's hard to not buy them all!! Two that I specifically want to point out are the Madewell Kent Cardigan and the Plush-Knit Open-Front Sweater by Old Navy because they look SO similar, but the Old Navy one is half the price (plus it's usually part of some sort of sale).

Yesterday we went to Disneyland (I know what you're thinking....what else is new?? 😉), but this time was extra special because some of our very best family friends bought passes. They've been friends of my family's since before I was born, and yesterday was our first Disney day together. What took us so long?? Haha! We got churro funnel cake, which is one of my personal favorites, and we also got to go on Big Thunder Mountain during fireworks - something that we tried to time just right! It was such a good day. Now on to a busy week....cheers for now! xoxoxo

H&M Light Gray Colorblock Sweater / Zara jeans (old style), similar HERE and more expensive HERE / Topshop booties (old style), similar HERE
Hey hey! I've been on a serious hunt for sweaters. H&M has some great ones this season - so much so that nearly every single one I try to order is already sold out. I got this one in-store last week, and I actually had to get a size S because my typical XS size was already sold out in every color. For only 20 bucks, I can see why....it's super soft, and I really like the oversized fit it has. I linked it here (under the picture and at the bottom of this post) for you, but heads up - it's probably unavailable 🙁 I added some others that I really love, as well as some from other stores that are similar to the one I'm wearing, too!

What are you up to this week? I've been confused about what day it is all week because of Columbus Day on Monday hah. I got a bunch of new fall decorations from Joann's that I shared over on my IG stories. Maybe I'll do a post on that? Anyway - I have a book review post that's going to be published very soon. SUPER excited about that!! xoxo

Tall Fur Boots / Faux Fur Throw Blanket / Cable Knit Beanie / Fur Mocassin / Chunky Sweater / Fuzzy Sleep Mask ($5!) / Over-the-knee Socks
Don't these pieces make you want to cuddle up by the fire with a hot cocoa? Or maybe take a trip to the mountains and enjoy the snow from inside a warm cabin?! They sure make me want to! I'm dying for this chunky knit sweater by Topshop - it's everything I want for a cozy outfit. And the pom-pom over-the-knee socks? All the heart eyes 😍 I actually ordered the Victoria boot from Koolaburra (a brand by UGG) for this year because I really want these fur boots, but $200+ is a little steep. These dupes are super cute with the bows up the sides, and they're only $90 (plus I had a coupon hehe). Also, is that not the softest blanket you ever did see? It's got pom-poms, too - need I say more!!

I hope you're enjoying this fall so far!! xoxoxo

Target is one of my favorite places....ever! More recently, I'm loving their take on some of the most popular trends for fall. I've already bought a couple of pieces, but there are a whole bunch of things I want to order. Read below for more!

Faux Leather Moto Jacket
First up is this faux leather jacket. It's only $35 and is super cute, which is great because it's much cheaper compared to similar ones like this one and this one. I was concerned about the quality since it's at a lower price point, but it's just as nice as a more expensive one I have. Just one thing - I would go up one size. I got this in my regular size XS, but I have no room for layering. It's also a tad short, and I like my jackets a little longer (esp in the back).

Lanae Scrunch Boots
Ugh - I love these boots!! Okay, they're not the greeaattest quality - they definitely aren't as good as, say, a $200 pair - but for $40, they are so adorable for fall. The color is perfect, the heel height is just right, and they fit really well. I have pretty thin calves, and a lot of times it's hard to find boots that don't make my legs look like they're swimming in them. So glad I bought these!

Faux Leather High Rise Leggings
I picked these up during the 20% off sale (plus 5% with my redcard) and got them for only $13. Truthfully, I'm not sure how I feel about them. They're a little thin and scratchy, and the smallest size (XS) fits loosely around my legs. Probably will hang on to these, but definitely will keep shopping.

Laser Cut Heeled Ankle Booties / Heeled Fashion Boots
Another thing I've got my eye out for are new booties. I've shopped around a lot looking for a good pair, but most of the ones I like are around $100+. While the quality of the more expensive ones probably can't be matched, I love the look of these two pairs. They are exactly what I'm looking for in a fall shoe!

Suede Slippers
Speaking of shoes, I cannot wait to get these! My first choice are the UGG Dakota Mocassins, but those may have to wait until my puppy Zoey is out of her destroy-everything-in-her-path phase. For 20 bucks, these soft, cozy slipper shoes will do just fine. I saw them in store and wanted every color...just waiting til it gets a little cooler!

Open Layering Cardigan
A staple cardigan is a must-have for me during this season - they're perfect for those days that are cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. I happen to love this one, and it doesn't even look like it's from Target. It comes in 3 other colors too...the "gray" is my favorite.

That's all for now - hope you're all doing well :) September completely flew by - I'm shocked it's already October. SO excited about it, though! Going to be hosting a fall gathering at my house in a couple weeks and I can't wait to share about it. xoxoxo
