Saturday in San Diego

Welcome back from the weekend! I'm spending Monday taking it easy after a busy couple of days. I spent Friday at Disneyland, Saturday in San Diego, and Sunday running errands and catching up with family friends. Saturday was actually my parents' 28th wedding anniversary, so that was the main reason for the trips :) I had a great weekend!!

Friday at Disney was so nice, just because it wasn't nearly as crowded hahah. It's funny how that actually plays such a big role in what kind of day it turns out to be. Also, I found the cutest gate to take a photo in front of - I saw it on Disneyland's Instagram page. It's a red gate with white polka dots in Toontown, and I happened to wear matching shoes and my new Minnie Mouse shirt - I swear I didn't plan it. I'm so glad it worked out hehe. PS - I love that shirt so much. It's super comfortable and is only $12.99.....find it HERE. (Here are links to the rest of my outfit: White Denim Skirt / Canvas Backpack / Rose Gold Minnie Ears)

Saturday, we got a really late start and didn't wind up leaving the house until about 12:30 in the afternoon. It's nearly impossible to go anywhere on weekends without battling massive traffic unless you leave early in the day. I'm talking all directions....north, south, east, is all jammed big time. So, it took us about 4 hours to get to San Diego, which is normally only a 2 hour route. Since we were battling traffic for so long, we stopped at a halfway point in Irvine for lunch.

If you've read my blog at any point you must know I'm all about cute restaurants. I say it all the time, lol! So, stopping for lunch in a town I don't frequent was my chance to find a great spot. I ended up choosing Mendocino Farms, which I had heard of before, and the menu looked pretty good. I just loved it! Decorated so well and had really delicious food. They also make their own fountain sodas, which is something I've never seen before. The ingredients were so fresh - I would definitely eat there again. We sat on the outside patio, and it was perfect weather and so relaxing.

After we got back on the road, we made it to La Jolla Cove. We make sure to visit there anytime we go to San Diego because it's such a beautiful place with great shopping, restaurants, and hotels. We wandered into the La Valencia hotel, which is somewhere I'd love to stay some day. Really pretty Mediterranean style hotel with the perfect view of La Jolla.

After that, we headed further south to Seaport Village, and we lost track of time and realized around 9pm we hadn't eaten dinner. Downtown San Diego on a Saturday night is packed, and after trying several places we wound up at Olive Garden around 10:30 at night! Hahah we didn't get back home until about 1:30 in the morning, but it was worth it.

Can you believe my trip to South Carolina is in 11 DAYS?!! I certainly can't! I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row because I know the next several days are gonna fly by. I am SO excited....will keep you updated! xoxo
